The next generation of Rap Superstars is here, and at the very top is GloRilla. “It’s really cool. I’m really happy to be part of it because it’s a new wave,” she told Refinery29. “I am happy to be part of those who are leading the new wave.”This new wave will flood the stage of the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on June 25, when GloRilla–freshly nominated for the XXL freshman class of 2023 – will perform at the BET Awards 2023. Glorilla has made 2023 her year, teaming up with Moneybagg Yo for “on Wat U On” while dropping “Internet Trolls”, “Lick Or Sum” and a Remix of Lil Durk’s “Ex’s”.”

Glo has been climbing the Hip-Hop ladder for a while. “I would describe [my background] as modest, and I just kept working,” she told Refinery29. “I never gave up and I always had a Vision. That’s all you need to have; that Vision and that motivation.”So, if you are Nov. quit. 20 empty-handed, it won’t be long before she returns to pick up her flowers and accept the rewards of her hard work.

GloRilla also proved that she is on the right track when Audiomack, the leading music streaming platform for artists, named her its recent #UpNow artist. Audiomack’s #UpNow program highlights the next generation of Stars, and alumni include Black Sherif, Pooh Shiesty, EST Gee, Sheff G, Omah Lay and Ayra Starr, among others. “They’ve played an important role in helping me connect with Fans in new ways,” Glo said of Audiomack, which will make it the cover of the #UpNot playlist while strengthening its presence on the platform. “I appreciate the Audiomack team for always showing love and I look forward to building more with them in the future,” she added.

Glorilla’s real name is Gloria Hallelujah.

When GloRilla had her success with “F. N.F.”, Fans knew that her name was Gloria Woods and that “GloRilla” was just a play on her first name. However, in October 2022, she shared that her middle name is “Hallelujah”, which caused a stir on Twitter. “&Why are you acting like Ian told you my middle name Hallelujah?”she tweeted. “Dates why I am so blessed and my father is so good, duhhhhhh!!!! Common Sense.”

She is originally from Northside Memphis.

“I grew up in church, but we still saw 106 & Park and BET,” Glo told XXL in September 2022. I loved Bow Wow, Soulja Boy and Lil Wayne.”She described herself as a quiet child with nine siblings – six boys, four girls – and grew up at home until the fifth grade, when childcare forced her mother to enroll school-age children in public school.

The church was his first taste for music. “I had a lot of solos in the church choir, and when I was growing up, the only music my mother let us hear was Gospel. Before, we had to sneak in and listen to the Other Music.”
